Founded to create a more sustainable and socially responsible approach to food, we transform surplus food destined for disposal into valuable resources for communities, events, and schools across the UK. Through these efforts, we work to build a future where surplus food feeds people, not bins.

Our Founder

Adam Smith, a UK-born chef with over a decade of international experience, had his outlook transformed while working in Australia, where he witnessed the vast scale of food waste across the supply chain.

Shocked by the contrast between surplus and global hunger, he returned home driven by a new mission—to challenge how society values food.

This passion led him to found The Real Junk Food Project, a pioneering initiative tackling food waste and promoting sustainable change.
